Not to brag, but I've been making this recipe for two years now and everyone who tasted it was content. The recipe is simple and easy to make.
The ingredients you have to have are:
- 1 kg of chilli peppers;
- 1 kg of kapia peppers;
- 1 kg of normal peppers;
- 3 apples;
- a little ginger;
- a pinch of salt;
- 1 l of vinegar;
- 1 kg of sugar.
You clean and cut all the vegetables and fruits, but be careful with the chilli peppers. Do wear gloves when cleaning and cutting them, trust me. Mix the vinegar and sugar, then add the vegetables and apples. Boil them until the composition is dense. I usually let it rest a day, than boil it once again before putting in jars, to be sure it lasts more. The recipe is versatile, you can use the amount of chilli you're comfortable with.
My mother likes to blend it after cooking it, but I keep mine with bigger pieces, it just a matter of personal taste. The jam can be used in many dishes, from steaks to simple stews. Enjoy!
This is the best thing I've tasted! Love the spicy notes, love the taste and texture. You're the queen of this jam and next year I am buying a jar or two.
