It has been an interesting journey that helped us discover some hidden gems. For those who aren't familiar, Road to Kingdom is a competition for seven k-pop groups. Their goal is to get to the kingdom and for that they have to give innovative performances according to a certain topic. The groups that took part into the competition were:
❤ PENTAGON
❤TOO
❤ONF
Unfortunately two groups had to leave and that broke our hearts because you could see how hard-working and how much they desired to perform their best. Every team gave their best and there were many beautiful performances, but here are the ones I enjoyed the best.
10. GOLDEN CHILD - T.O.P
They made me fell in love with a song that I wouldn't listen on daily basics. Their outfits and elegance were spectacular.
9. THE BOYS - REVEAL
They sure ran after that crown. It amazing how many things 11 people can do in a performance.
8. GOLDEN CHILD - WANNABE
Performing their own song in a different manner can be a tricky job, but they succeeded in giving a wonderful performance. And the violin solo is something to warm your heart.
7. ONF - THE WE MUST LOVE
They proved they are really good at rearranging songs. Maybe it's not obvious in the live performances but try listen to the audio and you'll be impressed. The performance is also something eye-catching as they are great dancers.
6. Verivery, TOO - ON
Performing to one of the most popular songs, by k-pop sensation BTS could have put them in dangerous situation. Instead, both Verivery and TOO showed the beauty of synchronized dancing and it was mostly because Mr. Always-Worrying aka Dongheon from Verivery took care of it. Also, the decision to perform with all the members form the both teams showed how eager they are to be on stage.
5. PENTAGON - VERY GOOD
BLOCK B is one of the most talented and underrated k-pop groups and to have PENTAGON show that they had great songs made me happy. However, PENTAGON made it their own song with the dedication of Hui and gave an awesome performance. Those boys have so much charisma.
4. PENTAGON - SPRING SNOW + SHINE
This is the number one performance in my heart. They showed that they are not only colleagues but brothers and it made me melt. They have been through much and I totally understood the decision to show Jinho their gratitude and friendship appreciation. I dare you watch this and not cry.
3. ONEUS - LIT
Their lit was a hit, but damn they gave a show. They had magical brooms and dragons. Anyway, each member was highlighted and they had fun and entertained us. Maybe because they were always in the bottom half, they performed as it was their last performance and just added a plus of energy and dedication.
2. ONEUS - COME BACK HOME
This song is a masterpiece, from catchy lines, to high notes and fire rap, it has it all. The performance is also wonderful and the story is just amazing. You can see the MV here.
1. PENTAGON - BASQUIAT
The way they are always sending a message is admirable and to blend it with fabulous voices and fantastic rap is a recipe for heaven. They inspire us to be better persons and that makes me respect them as artists.
All in all, I really hope this show made the groups's popularity to grow because they deserve it. They are talented and are trying hard to make it in a harsh industry and to see them put all their heart and body in their performances is heartbreaking. At least we can do is cheer for them and appreciate their work. What did you think about this show?
This show was simply amazing, I love it when Kpop groups compete like that. (Though my poor multifandom heart can barely take it.) There are hidden underrated gems in this industry and this show proves it. There was no boring performance and those you highlighted here were certainly among the best.
